Maryland U.S. Senate election, 2028

Maryland's Class III Senate seat is on the ballot on November 7, 2028. It's held now by Chris Van Hollen (Democrat).

Filed with the FEC for 2028

Name	Party (as filed)	Left–right	Raised toward 2028	Cash on hand	FEC
Chris Van Hollen (incumbent)	Democrat	Moderately left	$2,833,695	$3,641,970	Filings

Totals reported to the FEC through September 30, 2026. No one else has reported raising at least $5,000 for this seat yet.

Anyone can appear here by filing a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission; it is not a spot on the ballot, and the parties' nominees won't be chosen until 2028. A sitting senator's campaign committee is registered for their next election by default, which doesn't by itself mean they've announced a run.
