Elected 4th Ward alderperson in April 2023, defeating Prentice Butler in a runoff to succeed Ald. Sophia King; sworn in May 15, 2023. Previously represented the 5th District in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2019. A Clark Atlanta University alumnus. Serves as vice chair of the City Council Committee on Police and Fire.
