2027 elections: dates, offices and deadlines
2027 has no federal general election, but governors, legislatures, mayors, judges and ballot questions are on the ballot across the country. Here's what official sources say so far. Candidates are added as they file. Updated November 4, 2026.
February 2027
- Chicago municipal election: February 23, 2027. Mayor, City Clerk, City Treasurer and all 50 alderpersons
March 2027
- Tampa city election: March 2, 2027 (expected). Mayor and City Council
April 2027
- Colorado Springs municipal election: April 6, 2027. Mayor and three at-large City Council seats
- Denver municipal election: April 6, 2027. Mayor, Auditor, Clerk and Recorder, and all 13 City Council seats
- Wisconsin Supreme Court election: April 6, 2027. One seat on the state Supreme Court, plus mayors and other local offices in many cities
- Louisiana spring elections and constitutional amendment: April 17, 2027. A statewide constitutional amendment, municipal primaries and the BESE party primaries
May 2027
- Fort Worth city election: May 1, 2027. Mayor and City Council Districts 2–11
October 2027
- Memphis municipal election: October 7, 2027. Mayor and City Council
November 2027
- Charlotte city election: November 2, 2027. Mayor and City Council
- Columbus municipal election: November 2, 2027. Mayor, City Auditor and City Council Districts 2, 5, 6, 8 and 9
- Dallas city election: November 2, 2027. Mayor and all 14 City Council districts, now in November instead of May
- Houston city election: November 2, 2027. Mayor, City Controller, Council Districts A–K and five at-large seats
- Indianapolis municipal election: November 2, 2027. Mayor and all 25 City-County Council seats
- Kentucky statewide elections: November 2, 2027. Governor, lieutenant governor and all five other statewide constitutional offices
- Mississippi statewide and legislative elections: November 2, 2027. Governor and every statewide office, the whole Legislature, district attorneys and county offices
- New Jersey legislative elections: November 2, 2027 (expected). All 40 state Senate seats and all 80 General Assembly seats
- Pennsylvania municipal and judicial elections: November 2, 2027 (expected). County, city, borough, township and school board offices statewide, plus judicial elections
- Philadelphia municipal election: November 2, 2027 (expected). Mayor, all 17 City Council seats, Sheriff, Register of Wills, the three City Commissioners and judges
- Salt Lake City municipal election: November 2, 2027 (expected). Mayor and City Council Districts 2, 4 and 6
- Texas constitutional amendment election: November 2, 2027 (expected). Any amendments the 2027 Legislature proposes
- Virginia General Assembly elections: November 2, 2027 (expected). All 100 House of Delegates seats and all 40 state Senate seats
- Louisiana governor and legislative elections: November 20, 2027. Governor and every statewide office, and the whole Legislature
