Won a 2019 runoff to succeed longtime Ald. Pat O'Connor in the 40th Ward. Before his election he was a community organizer, including with Reclaim Chicago, and worked as a marketing account manager with AT&T. Born and raised in Chicago. Chairs the City Council Committee on Immigrant and Refugee Rights.
