Background

According to Moraine Valley Community College, its Board of Trustees approved a resolution at its May 21, 2026 meeting placing the $115 million bond question on the November 3, 2026 ballot to pay for capital projects on the Palos Hills campus.

The college says that if the bonds are approved it plans a new building on the east side of campus for its Automotive Technology, Heating and Air Conditioning/Refrigeration, and Welding programs, and expanded space for Automation and Engineering Technology and Fire Science/Emergency Medical Services programs, among other projects.

College President Pamela J. Haney said in the announcement that these career programs are growing rapidly and 'have outlived their current spaces on our campus.'
