What local offices are elected in Nevada?
Each county elects a board of county commissioners and an assessor, clerk, recorder, treasurer, sheriff and district attorney (small counties combine some of these offices, and many elect a public administrator), for four-year staggered terms. County races are partisan, except the sheriff's. Carson City, a consolidated municipality, elects a mayor and board of supervisors and its officers on a nonpartisan ballot. Each county is one school district with an elected board of trustees, and townships elect justices of the peace and constables.
