|---|---|
| When | Nomination petitions may be circulated and filed from February 16 to March 9, 2027 (for the May 18 primary). Nomination papers, the route for candidates not seeking a party nomination at the primary, may be circulated and filed from March 10 to August 2, 2027. |
| How | In person at City Hall Room 142, on printed petition forms from vote.phila.gov (8.5 x 11 inch, two-sided), pages bound with binder clips and numbered. Include a notarized Candidate's Affidavit (or the Department of State's unsworn Candidate Declaration in place of notarization), a signed Statement of Circulator on each page, and a copy of the Statement of Financial Interests; the original Statement goes to the Department of Records, City Hall Room 156, by the same deadline. |
| Fee | $100 filing fee per petition, by certified check or money order payable to the City of Philadelphia; not refunded if the candidate withdraws. |

Circulators must be Pennsylvania registered voters of that party. |

- City candidates file campaign finance reports electronically through the city's online system, which files them with both the County Board of Elections and the Philadelphia Board of Ethics; a notarized (or unsworn-statement) cover sheet goes to City Hall Room 142 within ten days after each due date.
- A candidate whose contributions, spending and debts stay at $250 or less in a reporting period may file the shorter Campaign Finance Statement instead of a full report.
