Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Page voters
Results: the official election results site. Counts are unofficial until certified.
- What it does
- Shall the City Code be amended to add Chapter 74 restricting the City from reducing the number of lanes or size of portions of Lake Powell Boulevard between Rim View Drive and Aspen Street as they existed on October 1, 2023, and prohibiting amendments or repeal of Chapter 74, except through another initiative?
- A YES vote means
- A new Chapter 74 of Page's City Code would bar the city from reducing the number or size of lanes on Lake Powell Boulevard between Rim View Drive and Aspen Street from what existed on October 1, 2023, and it could be changed or repealed only by another initiative.
- A NO vote means
- Page's City Code would not add Chapter 74 on Lake Powell Boulevard lanes.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).
Background
This is a citizen initiative: according to City of Page Resolution 1341-26, the Page Action Committee applied for a serial number on October 30, 2023 and filed initiative petitions on March 12, 2024.
The resolution states that after litigation between the City and the Page Action Committee in 2024 and 2025, the Arizona Supreme Court found the initiative falls within the voters' legislative authority and must proceed to the ballot, and that under a settlement agreement the parties agreed to place it on the November 3, 2026 ballot.
The initiative would add Chapter 74 to the City Code, barring public resources or outside funds from being used to reduce the number of lanes or size of Lake Powell Boulevard between Rim View Drive and Aspen Street from their October 1, 2023 condition; it could be amended or repealed only through another initiative, and it gives any resident standing to sue to enforce it.
The Page Mayor and City Council adopted Resolution 1341-26, submitting the initiative to voters, 7–0 on April 22, 2026.
