Background

According to County Counsel's impartial analysis, District voters approved the original lease and option to purchase with Reedley Community Hospital, an affiliate of Adventist Health, in 2011; this measure would approve a new lease and purchase option for the hospital facility at 372 West Cypress Avenue in Reedley and an adjacent parcel, replacing the original lease.

The new lease would have a 20-year initial term and two five-year renewal terms for continued operation of the hospital, according to the analysis.

State law requires a health care district to get voter approval before transferring a substantial portion of its assets to a private party; the measure was placed on the ballot by the District's Board of Directors (Resolution No. 328, adopted July 27, 2026) and requires a simple majority.

Put on the ballot by Sierra Kings Health Care District Board of Directors, July 27, 2026 (Resolution No. 328).
