What local offices are elected in Kansas?
Each county elects a board of three or five county commissioners, by district, for staggered four-year terms, plus a county clerk, treasurer, register of deeds, sheriff and county attorney (six judicial districts elect a district attorney instead), all on a partisan ballot. Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, share a Unified Government with a Mayor/CEO and commission, and a few counties have made some offices appointed. Townships, cities and school districts elect their own officers and boards.
