Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Comstock Park school district voters
Results: the official election results site. Counts are unofficial until certified.
- What it does
- This proposal will allow the school district to levy the statutory rate of not to exceed 18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance. Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Comstock Park Public Schools, Kent County, Michigan, be increased by 3 mills ($3.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 4 years, 2027 to 2030, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2027 is approximately $50,000 (this millage is to restore millage lost as a result of the reduction required by the Michigan Constitution of 1963 and will be levied only to the extent necessary to restore that reduction)?
- A YES vote means
- Comstock Park Public Schools could levy up to 3 more mills on property other than primary homes for 4 years, 2027 to 2030, only as needed to restore millage lost to the state constitutional reduction, raising about $50,000 in 2027.
- A NO vote means
- Comstock Park Public Schools would not be authorized to levy these 3 mills.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Unclear: our AI read of the official summary isn't confident enough (we require 70%) to place this on the left–right spectrum, so we don't. Read the summary and decide for yourself.
