Grosse Pointe Public Library — Library Millage Renewal Proposal (Wayne County)

Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Only voters in this district

What it does
Shall the 0.6432 mills ($0.6432 per $1,000 of taxable value) currently levied be renewed for a period of fifteen years from 2028 to 2042, inclusive, to provide funds for all library purposes authorized by law for district libraries? If approved and levied in its entirety in 2028, the millage would raise an estimated $2,658,586 for the Grosse Pointe Public Library.
A YES vote means
The Grosse Pointe Public Library's 0.6432 mill tax would be renewed for fifteen years, 2028 to 2042, raising about $2,658,586 in 2028.
A NO vote means
The Grosse Pointe Public Library's 0.6432 mill tax would not be renewed for 2028 to 2042.
What it would cost
0.6432 mills (estimated) for 15 years: $64.32 a year for every $100,000 of taxable value (a mill is $1 per $1,000). Taxable value is after exemptions such as homestead; your tax bill or property appraiser shows yours. It would continue a tax already in place rather than add a new one.
Needed to pass
A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
Left–right lean
Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).

The YES and NO lines are SpectrumVote's plain-language reading of the official text above; the official text is what you vote on.
