Background

According to Nevis Public School District, its school board approved a three-question building bond referendum in June 2026, after an earlier referendum failed in April 2025. The district says it revised the plan using a fall 2025 community survey.

The district says Question 2 would add a multi-purpose physical education and fitness area, along with restrooms and additional parking. It can pass only if Question 1 is approved.

The district says the board also separately approved $8.07 million in Long-Term Facilities Maintenance work that does not require voter approval, including electrical service updates and a new fire alarm system.

The district estimates Question 2 would cost $13 a month on a $386,100 home, with the bonds issued over 20 years starting in 2027.

Put on the ballot by Nevis School Board (ISD 308), June 2026 (exact date and vote not found in an online official record).
