Background

Collingswood Public Schools says this is an operating referendum, not a building bond. If approved, it would add an estimated $4.56 million to the district's operating budget.

According to a letter from the superintendent and Board President Kelly Maia, the board discussed the district's financial challenges at its July 13, 2026 public meeting. The letter cites rising costs from inflation, health insurance and utilities, and reduced state and federal funding.

The district says the money would pay for teachers, instructional assistants and academic support staff, plus business operations such as human resources, payroll, benefits, purchasing, facilities and technology.

Put on the ballot by Collingswood Board of Education (2026; resolution date and vote not stated in the district letter).
