About Michael Murphy

Retired law enforcement officer; consultant. P. Michael Murphy served 13 years as the appointed Clark County coroner, retiring in 2015, after a 25-year law enforcement career that included serving as Mesquite police chief. In 2022 the county brought him in under contract to run the Public Administrator's office after then-administrator Robert Telles was removed, and he led it for about 11 months. He now consults on coroner's office issues and teaches law enforcement classes; he has not previously run for elected office.
