Quick answers
- Who are my local elected officials in New York?
- Enter your address at spectrumvote.com to see your county commissioners, county officers, school board and city council, with your own district's members marked. Or pick your county below: 279 elected bodies and 1,123 seats across 55 counties.
- What local offices are elected in New York?
- Each county outside New York City elects a county legislature (in some counties a board of supervisors made up of the town supervisors), a county clerk, sheriff and district attorney, and many also elect a county executive, treasurer or comptroller and coroners, depending on the county's charter. County races are partisan and most are held in odd-numbered years. New York City elects a mayor, public advocate, comptroller and a 51-member City Council, and each of its five boroughs elects a borough president and a district attorney. Towns elect a supervisor and town board, cities and villages elect mayors and councils or trustees, and school districts elect their boards.
