Background

According to the District's explanatory statement, North Clackamas is Oregon's fifth-largest school district, serving nearly 17,000 students in 32 schools.

The $245 million bond would fund security cameras, access controls and cybersecurity; HVAC and cooling to prevent heat closures; CTE spaces; and roof, plumbing and field repairs, including stadium renovations at Milwaukie and Putnam high schools.

Because existing bonds are maturing, the District estimates the bond would keep the current levy rate of about $2.37 per $1,000 rather than raise it. It would also qualify for $6,126,000 in state matching funds.

Put on the ballot by North Clackamas School District No. 12 Board (referred).
