Background

Asotin County commissioners' minutes say the rural EMS district (REMS #2) was created by Ordinance 20-21 and is funded by a property tax paid by residents of that area. A levy measure for the district, Proposition 1, was on the August 4, 2026 ballot.

On July 27, 2026, commissioners approved Resolution No. 26-27, a continuing property tax levy for REMS #2 that the minutes describe as a precaution in case the August Proposition 1 failed. It was to be withdrawn if Proposition 1 passed.

Put on the ballot by Asotin County Board of Commissioners acting for REMS District No. 2 (resolution placing the November measure not found in posted minutes).
