Background

According to the explanatory statement by City Attorney Julie Norton, the measure would continue an EMS property-tax levy that voters first approved in 2020.

The city uses the levy to pay for its contract with Douglas-Okanogan Fire District 15 for emergency medical services, according to the statement and the city's resolution.

The statement says the renewed levy would keep the expiring levy's rate of $0.50 per $1,000 of assessed value, for six consecutive years starting in 2027.

Okanogan County's local voters' pamphlet lists no argument for and no argument against the measure.

Put on the ballot by Brewster City Council, July 27, 2026 (Resolution No. 2026-05).
