Background

According to the explanatory statement by Authority attorney Eric Quinn, the one-year excess levy would raise $1,547,228 for collection in 2027.

The statement cites apparatus failures, a facility water-system replacement and an aging fleet, as well as the rising daily cost of service.

The statement puts the maximum cost at $15.00 a month for a home assessed at $500,000.

The Thurston County pamphlet includes an argument for the measure; it says no one contacted the Auditor to write a statement against.
