Background
The district's current operational referendum expires at the end of this school year, and the district says the new $950,000-a-year request would replace it and also make up for COVID relief funding it no longer receives.
The district says the $950,000 amount got the most support among several options in a May 2026 community survey.
The district estimates the additional $350,000 a year over current levels would cost about $10 a year on a $100,000 property starting in 2027-28.
The district says it has cut one administrator and four classroom positions and delayed maintenance and technology replacement, and that without the referendum it might need short-term borrowing or to drain its fund balance.
