What it does
SHALL “ADVANCING MARICOPA,” THE MARICOPA GENERAL PLAN AND LAND USE MAP, AS ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 2ND DAY OF JUNE 2026, BE APPROVED BY THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF MARICOPA. A YES vote shall have the effect of approving “Advancing Maricopa,” the Maricopa General Plan and Land Use Map as adopted by the City Council and it shall become effective as provided by law. A NO vote shall have the effect of leaving the Maricopa 2016 General Plan in place until such time as Council shall adopt other provisions which may be ratified by the voters.
A YES vote means
"Advancing Maricopa," the General Plan and Land Use Map adopted by the City Council on June 2, 2026, would be approved.
A NO vote means
The Maricopa 2016 General Plan would stay in place until the council adopts other provisions that voters ratify.
Needed to pass
A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
Left–right lean
Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).

The YES and NO lines are SpectrumVote's plain-language reading of the official text above; the official text is what you vote on.
