Background
The Dublin Unified School District Board of Trustees adopted Resolution No. 2025/26-69 on June 9, 2026, by a 4-1 vote (Speck, Martinez, Cherrier and Reyes yes; Blackman no), calling this parcel tax election, according to the resolution filed with the Alameda County Registrar of Voters.
The resolution states that local voters have supported school parcel taxes since 2008, that the district's parcel tax funding has not increased in 18 years, and that the current tax is set to expire soon; it says that without a renewal and increase the district would face cuts including teacher layoffs and larger class sizes.
According to the resolution, proceeds could not be used for district office administrators' salaries and benefits, an independent oversight committee and audits would be required, and homeowners 65 and older and certain low-income or disabled homeowners could apply for an exemption.
