What it does
To improve the quality of local education; complete the Main Building retrofit and renovation; replace deteriorating plumbing, electrical, sewer, heating and ventilation systems; and modernize and upgrade old classrooms and restrooms; shall Sunol Glen Unified School District's measure be adopted authorizing $6,100,000 of bonds at legal rates, generating on average $431,700 annually while bonds are outstanding at approximate rates of $35 per $100,000 assessed value, with audits, citizens' oversight, no money for salaries and funds staying local?
A YES vote means
Sunol Glen Unified could issue $6,100,000 in bonds to retrofit the Main Building, replace old building systems and modernize classrooms and restrooms, repaid by a property tax of about $35 per $100,000 of assessed value (about $431,700 a year on average), with audits and citizen oversight.
A NO vote means

Needed to pass
A 55% supermajority: at least 55 out of every 100 YES and NO votes must be YES, so a measure can get a majority and still fail.
Left–right lean

Background

The Sunol Glen Unified School District Governing Board adopted Resolution No. 25-2026-36 on June 23, 2026 calling this $6.1 million bond election, after adopting a Five Year Facility Master Plan on June 9, 2026, according to the resolution filed with the Alameda County Registrar of Voters; the district says an earlier bond, Measure J, funded the cafeteria and kitchen modernization and most of the Main Building seismic work.

According to the district, Measure K would finish the Main Building retrofit and modernization and fully upgrade the 200 Wing, which it says is over 60 years old and no longer meets current state school facility standards, and could provide local matching funds for state facility money the district is set to receive.

The district estimates an average tax rate of $33.54 per $100,000 of assessed value (highest $35.00) and total debt service of about $13,815,000, roughly $431,700 a year while bonds are outstanding, with annual audits and a citizens' oversight committee.

Put on the ballot by Sunol Glen Unified School District Governing Board, June 23, 2026 (Resolution No. 25-2026-36).
