Background

Measure R was placed on the ballot by the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District through Resolution No. 07132026.1 and needs two-thirds of the vote, according to County Counsel's impartial analysis.

It would raise the District's existing voter-approved parcel tax from $22.00 to $37.00 per parcel a year, plus a 1% annual increase, starting July 1, 2027 and continuing until repealed by voters; if it fails, the $22.00 tax continues.

The money could be used only for District parks, recreation facilities and programs, including staff, equipment and emergency repairs from snow, flood or fire, and must be kept in a special account with an annual independent audit report.

Put on the ballot by Rim of the World Recreation and Park District Board (Resolution No. 07132026.1).
