- A YES vote means
- Larkspur Fire Protection District's property tax would rise by 3.97 mills starting January 1, 2027, raising $925,225 a year, for staffing, training, pay, accreditation and equipment; from 2028 the rate could be adjusted to keep revenue steady.
- A NO vote means
- Larkspur Fire Protection District's property tax would not rise by 3.97 mills.
- What it would cost
- 3.97 mills: $397 a year for every $100,000 of taxable value (a mill is $1 per $1,000). Taxable value is after exemptions such as homestead; your tax bill or property appraiser shows yours. It would continue a tax already in place rather than add a new one.

Background
Larkspur Fire Protection District says 6A would raise its property tax by 3.97 mills starting next year. A separate question, 6B, would let the district issue $4.5 million in bonds for capital improvements.
The district says the measures would fund priorities from its five-year strategic plan, including two fully staffed stations at Larkspur and Perry Park, staff retention, vehicle and equipment replacement, and a training area next to Station 161.
The district also says the overall mill levy for all taxpayers will fall by just over 1 mill next year regardless of the election, because previously issued bonds were paid off.
After a public hearing with no public comments, the board approved Resolution 2026-009 calling the election on August 12, 2026; the minutes say all were in favor.
