- What it does
- Shall Tri-Creek School Corporation increase property taxes paid to the school corporation for no more than eight (8) years for the purpose of replacing lost property tax revenue, funding bus transportation, student programs, and school safety by imposing a property tax rate that does not exceed seventeen and thirty-eight hundredths cents ($0.1738) and results in a maximum annual amount that does not exceed three million dollars ($3,000,000)? If this operating referendum public question is approved by the voters, for a median residence of $300,000, the property’s annual property tax bill would increase by $245 per year. The most recent operating referendum public question proposed by the school corporation was held in 2023 and failed.

- Tri-Creek School Corporation would not raise property taxes for this purpose.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Unclear: our AI read of the official summary isn't confident enough (we require 70%) to place this on the left–right spectrum, so we don't. Read the summary and decide for yourself.
Background
Tri-Creek's Board of School Trustees adopted Resolution #2026-04 on June 16, 2026, according to the board secretary's certification filed with the state. The resolution asks for an operating referendum on the November 3 ballot.
A revised June 23, 2026 memo from the corporation allocates the expected revenue as $1,539,668 for student programs, $1,040,263 for bus transportation, $419,112 for school safety, and $957 as Discovery Charter School's share.
