Last updated Sat, Nov 7, 4:33 PM ET

Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Arcadia voters

What it does
Shall the Town of Arcadia, State of Louisiana (the "Town"), be authorized to levy and collect a 1% sales and use tax (the "Tax") in accordance with Louisiana law (an estimated $862,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year), in perpetuity, beginning January 1, 2027, with the proceeds of the Tax (after paying reasonable and necessary expenses of collecting and administering the Tax) to be dedicated and used for at least 40% for constructing, acquiring, extending and/or improving sewer and sewerage disposal facilities of the Town and the waterworks system of the Town and the remainder of such proceeds for any lawful corporate purpose?
A YES vote means
Arcadia would levy a 1% sales and use tax permanently starting January 1, 2027, with at least 40% for sewer and waterworks systems and the rest for any lawful town purpose.
A NO vote means
Arcadia would not levy this 1% sales and use tax.
What it would cost
1% sales tax: $1 on a $100 taxable purchase. It would continue a tax already in place rather than add a new one.
Needed to pass
A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
Left–right lean
Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).

The YES and NO lines are SpectrumVote's plain-language reading of the official text above; the official text is what you vote on.
