Elected to the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court on November 4, 2008; she has served as presiding judge of the Family Court Division and of the family-focused juvenile drug court. Before the bench she was a judicial staff attorney at the 44th District Court (2002-2008), assistant city attorney for Royal Oak, assistant general counsel at Meadowbrook Insurance Group and an Oakland County assistant prosecutor (1990-1996). She graduated from Michigan State University's James Madison College and Wayne State University Law School.
