Background

East Grand Forks Public Schools' fact sheet says Question 3 would add a six-classroom PreK wing at New Heights Elementary, with a secure entrance, a multi-purpose room and an updated drop-off area. It can pass only if Question 2, a $26.4 million safety and infrastructure bond, also passes.

The district says a single early childhood addition would free classroom space at New Heights, South Point and CMS, instead of building an addition at each school.

The fact sheet says the School Board approved submitting the bond proposal to the Minnesota Department of Education for review and comment in June 2026.
