Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Springfield voters
Results: the official election results site. Counts are unofficial until certified.
- What it does
- Shall Sections 4.1, 6.2, 6.4, 6.6, 6.7, and 19.7 of the Springfield City Charter be amended to replace the current three-step merit rule adoption process with a two-step process that removes the personnel board from the process; and authorize the human resources director to approve application forms in lieu of the personnel board, as more fully set forth in General Ordinance No. 28331?
- A YES vote means
- Springfield's three-step merit rule adoption process would become a two-step process without the personnel board, and the human resources director would approve application forms instead of the board.
- A NO vote means
- Springfield would keep its three-step merit rule process with the personnel board, which would still approve application forms.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).
