Election night: live results from the official election site. Counts are unofficial until certified.
- What it does
- Shall Article II of the Charter of the Village of Brooklyn Heights be amended to provide that staggered terms for Council be eliminated; that three (3) Council positions shall be elected at the November 2027 election for a term of two (2) years; and that beginning with the November 2029 regular Village election, all five (5) Council positions shall be elected to four (4) year terms?
- A YES vote means
- Brooklyn Heights would end staggered Council terms: three seats elected in November 2027 for 2-year terms, then all five seats elected to 4-year terms starting in November 2029.
- A NO vote means
- Brooklyn Heights Council terms would stay staggered.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).
