Left–right lean
Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).

Background

According to Sycamore Community Schools, the Board of Education approved a resolution placing a combined 6.95-mill property tax levy on the ballot: 5.00 mills for operating expenses and 1.95 mills for permanent improvements.

The district says voters last approved a Sycamore operating levy in November 2016, and that funds the board said would last at least five years were stretched to 10 years.

The district says about 85% of its funding comes from local revenue, mainly property taxes, and 15% from the state.

The district says that under House Bill 920 tax reduction factors, the levy would be collected at an effective rate lower than 6.95 mills from its first collection, with separate rates for residential and commercial property.

Put on the ballot by Sycamore Community City School District Board of Education (resolution date and vote not stated).
