Ayres has worked for 25 years as a mechanical and systems engineer at an aerospace company and holds an aerospace engineering degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He and his wife have lived in Canby for 24 years, and their daughter graduated from Canby schools. He lists no prior government experience.
