Background
The Laramie County Board of Commissioners considered Resolution 26-267, placing continuation of the county's optional lodging tax under Wyoming Statute 39-15-204(a)(ii) on the November 3, 2026 ballot, at its June 2, 2026 meeting, according to the meeting agenda.
The question asks voters to renew, not create, a 2% tax on the price of overnight stays in hotels, motels, campgrounds, short-term rentals and similar lodging; KGAB reported that the county's lodging tax has been in place since 1987 and is the primary source of funding for Visit Cheyenne.
