Background

The question comes from a citizen petition asking to form the Summerlin Public Improvement District to pay for reconstruction and repaving of public roads within it, financed by a multi-year obligation repaid with a property tax levy, according to Boulder County.

The Boulder County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution 2026-034 referring the questions to the proposed district's electors at a public hearing on June 9, 2026, and on August 18, 2026 adopted Resolution 2026-052 amending and certifying the ballot title.

The measure would form the district, authorize a levy of up to 17.34 mills ($60,000 in 2027) and an obligation of up to $1,250,000, and appears only on the ballots of electors in the proposed district.

Put on the ballot by Citizen petition; referred by the Boulder County Board of Commissioners June 9, 2026 (Resolution 2026-034), title certified August 18, 2026 (Resolution 2026-052).
