Background
This is a renewal of Webster Parish Fire Protection District No. 3's fire protection tax. In Louisiana, a local tax election must be approved by the State Bond Commission; the Commission's June 18, 2026 agenda lists it for the November 3, 2026 election as a 15.59-mill tax for 10 years (2028–2037) (item L26-159).
According to the ballot, the current 15.46-mill tax was authorized at an election held December 10, 2016 and runs through 2027; the 15.59 mills represents a 0.13-mill increase due to reappraisal. The ballot estimates the tax would raise $236,200 a year.
