Webster Parish — North Webster Industrial District Proposition (Tax Renewal)

Last updated Sat, Nov 7, 4:33 PM ET

Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Only voters in this district

What it does
Shall North Webster Parish Industrial District of the Parish of Webster, State of Louisiana (the "District"), continue to levy a special tax of 5.14 mills on all the property subject to taxation in the District (an estimated $603,700 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year) for a period of 10 years, beginning with the year 2029 and ending with the year 2038, for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, maintaining and/or operating an industrial park or parks and related facilities and the payment of all expenses in connection therewith and in connection with the location of industry in the District?
A YES vote means
The North Webster Parish Industrial District would continue its 5.14-mill property tax from 2029 through 2038 for industrial parks and related facilities and costs of locating industry in the district.
A NO vote means
The district would not continue the 5.14-mill property tax for 2029 through 2038.
What it would cost
5.14 mills (estimated) for 10 years: $514 a year for every $100,000 of taxable value (a mill is $1 per $1,000). Louisiana assesses homes at 10% of market value, so that's about $51.40 per $100,000 of market value, before the homestead exemption. Taxable value is after exemptions such as homestead; your tax bill or property appraiser shows yours. It would continue a tax already in place rather than add a new one.
Needed to pass
A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
Left–right lean
A YES vote leans moderately right; a NO vote leans the other way (AI-estimated from the official ballot summary, 71% confidence).
