Last updated Sat, Nov 7, 4:33 PM ET

Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Dumont voters

What it does
INTERPRETATIVE STATEMENT "Section 21-5(A) of the Dumont Borough Code currently prohibits parking on Borough streets between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from October 15 through April 15 each year. This public question is advisory only and is intended to determine voter sentiment regarding whether this seasonal overnight parking restriction should remain in effect. The results of this vote are non-binding upon the Mayor and Council. A vote of “YES” would indicate to the Mayor and Council that you are in favor of keeping the current ordinance, and in favor of prohibiting parking on Borough streets from October 15th through April 15th between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. A vote of “NO” would indicate to the Mayor and Council that you are not in favor of the current ordinance and in favor of changing the ordinance to allow for overnight parking on Borough streets from October 15th through April 15th between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. " Your vote will influence, but not bind the Borough of Dumont Mayor and Council to the majority vote.
A YES vote means
In this non-binding vote, voters would tell the Mayor and Council they favor keeping the ban on parking on Borough streets from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., October 15 through April 15.
A NO vote means
In this non-binding vote, voters would tell the Mayor and Council they favor changing the ordinance to allow overnight street parking from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., October 15 through April 15.
Needed to pass
A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
Left–right lean
Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).

The YES and NO lines are SpectrumVote's plain-language reading of the official text above; the official text is what you vote on.
