Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Tenafly voters
Results: the official election results site. Counts are unofficial until certified.
- What it does
- A. The Open Space Trust Fund shall be funded through the collection of local property taxes in an amount of one cent ($.01) per one hundred ($100.00) dollars of assessed value per year for a period not to exceed ten (10) years, unless a proposition extending the same is approved by the voters. B. These funds shall be designated for the acquisition of lands for recreation and conservation purposes and the development of lands acquired for such purposes. C. If no lands are available for acquisition for these purposes, then the monies in said fund shall be used for other recreation, conservation, or historic preservation purposes as may be permitted by law, to be determined following a public hearing.
- A YES vote means
- Tenafly's Open Space Trust Fund would be funded by a property tax of one cent per $100 of assessed value per year for up to ten years, for buying and developing land for recreation and conservation (or other recreation, conservation or historic preservation uses after a public hearing if no land is available).
- A NO vote means
- Tenafly would not continue funding its Open Space Trust Fund with this one-cent-per-$100 property tax.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Unclear: our AI read of the official summary isn't confident enough (we require 70%) to place this on the left–right spectrum, so we don't. Read the summary and decide for yourself.
