What it does
Shall Sections 7 and 12 of the Charter of the City of Garfield Heights be amended to change the terms of all seven (7) members of Council from two (2) to four (4) years, beginning at the General Election held in November 2029; and to provide that Council shall elect one of its members President of Council at the first meeting in December following the General Election?
A YES vote means
Terms for all seven Garfield Heights Council members would go from 2 to 4 years starting with the November 2029 election, and Council would elect its own President at its first December meeting after the election.
A NO vote means
Garfield Heights Council terms would stay 2 years, and the Council President selection would not change.
Needed to pass
A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
Left–right lean
Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).

The YES and NO lines are SpectrumVote's plain-language reading of the official text above; the official text is what you vote on.
