Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Lakewood voters
Election night: live results from the official election site. Counts are unofficial until certified.
- What it does
- Shall Section 2.2 of the Third Amended Charter of the City of Lakewood be amended to require that prior to making an appointment to a vacancy in Council, remaining members of Council shall first issue an open call for all interested candidates to submit applications and, upon Council's review of the applications, shall hold candidate interviews in public session?
- A YES vote means
- Before filling a Lakewood Council vacancy, Council would have to issue an open call for applications and hold candidate interviews in public session.
- A NO vote means
- Lakewood's charter would not add these application and public interview steps for filling Council vacancies.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).
