Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Oakwood voters
Election night: live results from the official election site. Counts are unofficial until certified.
- What it does
- Shall Section 7.04 of the Charter of the Village of Oakwood be amended to provide that Council may direct such officials, departments, or employees of the municipality, or may appropriate such funds and contract with a third party, as Council may determine is necessary to redivide the municipality into five wards which shall be as nearly equal in number of persons after each Federal census; and that the Village Engineer shall keep, maintain, and make available for public inspection a map of the Municipality delineating its ward boundaries?
- A YES vote means
- Oakwood Council could direct village staff or hire a third party to redivide the village into five wards of nearly equal population after each federal census, and the Village Engineer would keep a public ward map.
- A NO vote means
- The charter's ward redivision rules would not change.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).
