- Rocky River Council terms would stay 2 years.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).
Background
Rocky River's Charter Review Commission is appointed by City Council every six years and must recommend any charter changes within five months, which Council then submits to voters, according to the City. A nine-member Commission was appointed in 2026.
Under the current Charter (Article III, Section 2), all members of Council serve two-year terms, elected every second year since 1961. The amendment would move them to four-year terms starting with the 2027 municipal election.
