Cuyahoga County Issue 94 — City of Rocky River: Proposed Charter Amendment
Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Rocky River voters
Election night: live results from the official election site. Counts are unofficial until certified.
- What it does
- Shall Article VIII, Section 2 of the Charter of the City of Rocky River be amended to provide that within twenty (20) days of the filing of a recall petition, the Clerk, in consultation with the Board of Elections, shall determine whether or not it meets the requirements to hold a recall election; and to expand the timeframe for holding a recall election from between thirty (30) and forty-five (45) days, to not less than sixty (60) and no more than seventy-five (75) days after the delivery of notice to the elected officer of a sufficient petition calling for the officer to resign?
- A YES vote means
- The Rocky River Clerk would decide within 20 days whether a recall petition qualifies, and a recall election would be held 60 to 75 days after notice to the officer, instead of 30 to 45 days.
- A NO vote means
- Recall elections would still be held 30 to 45 days after notice, under the current rules.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).
