Background

On August 17, 2026, the San Antonio ISD Board of Trustees voted to place this voter-approval tax rate election and three bond propositions on the November 3 ballot, according to the district; the announcement does not give the vote count.

The district says Proposition A's 3.17-cent maintenance and operations tax increase would generate an estimated $5.5 million, to fund college and career readiness programs, teacher pipeline initiatives and compensation initiatives such as a one-time supplement.

If all four propositions pass, the district estimates the average homeowner would pay $1.99 more a month in 2026, rising to $5.76 a month by 2030, and says homeowners with an over-65 exemption on file would not be affected.

Put on the ballot by San Antonio ISD Board of Trustees, August 17, 2026 (vote count not stated).
