Background

According to the order, Hero Way West Municipal Utility District was created by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and its voters confirmed the district and elected permanent directors at a May 3, 2025 election.

The board approved an engineering report estimating $90,000,000 for road facilities, including related costs and refunding bonds, under Section 54.234 of the Texas Water Code.

The order states that Article III, Section 52(b) of the Texas Constitution requires road bonds to be approved by a two-thirds majority of the district's voters.

The district estimates that if the bonds were approved and issued, its debt service tax rate would be at most about $1.20 per $100 of assessed valuation. The order says this estimate is not a limit on the unlimited tax.

Put on the ballot by Hero Way West Municipal Utility District Board of Directors, unanimous, July 24, 2026 (Order Calling Bond Elections).
