Needed to pass
A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
Left–right lean
Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).

The YES and NO lines are SpectrumVote's plain-language reading of the official text above; the official text is what you vote on.

Background

The County Board approved the referenda resolutions on July 21, 2026, alongside its FY2027-2036 Capital Improvement Plan: $184,260,000 in county questions plus an $80,000,000 schools question, five questions in all.

The County Manager's report lists the parks question's primary projects as parks maintenance capital, the Arlington Boathouse, Drew Park, Rosslyn Gateway Park, Penrose Square, parks land acquisition, trail and bridge modernization, and habitat restoration.

The County Manager's report says that if voters approve, the county cannot shift money between referendum categories. The Board may change specific projects within a category or issue fewer bonds than authorized.

Put on the ballot by Arlington County Board, July 21, 2026 (Item 40, bond referenda resolutions; tally not stated in the county's summary).
