Background
The Town Council passed a resolution to appropriate $4 million to replace two Wethersfield Fire Department vehicles, with bonds or notes not to exceed $4 million if voters approve, according to a town news notice posted October 8, 2026.
The town says the project would replace Truck 32, a 1997 aerial tower with a 100-foot ladder at Company #3, and Rescue 23, a 2000 heavy-duty rescue truck at Company #2.
The town lists the goals as following suggested NFPA 1900 standards for emergency vehicles and reducing the time apparatus is out of service for maintenance and repair.
