City of Inkster — Millage Renewal Request for Senior Services Operations (Wayne County)

Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Inkster voters

What it does
Shall the City of Inkster, Wayne County, Michigan be authorized and empowered to levy a general valorem property tax which in any one year shall not exceed 1.0 mills (1.0 mills per $1,000.00 of State Equalized Valuation for ten (10) years, 2027 to 2036? The continuation of the dedicated Millage for Senior Services Operations is up to 1.0 mills. It has been determined that up to 1.0 mills is necessary to operate this program and to continue the current level of service. General Fund dollars are not available to support these programs. The average cost to a homeowner is estimated to be $27 and would generate an estimated $290,000 if the maximum allowable amount is levied in any year.
A YES vote means
Inkster could levy up to 1.0 mills for ten years, 2027 to 2036, continuing its senior services millage, raising about $290,000 (about $27 for the average homeowner).
A NO vote means
Inkster would not be authorized to continue this senior services millage.
What it would cost
Up to 1 mill (estimated) for 10 years: $100 a year for every $100,000 of taxable value (a mill is $1 per $1,000). Taxable value is after exemptions such as homestead; your tax bill or property appraiser shows yours. It would continue a tax already in place rather than add a new one.
Needed to pass
